Ed has years of experience maintaining licenses as a certified professional soil scientist and wetland scientist in New England. Having worked with state and local agencies for over 12 years, he is well known in front of planning/zoning boards and conservation commissions, and is committed to responsive and efficient results.

After receiving his MS degree in Soil Ecology & Microbiology from URI, Ed became a Certified Professional Soil Scientist licensed with the National Soil Scientists Society of America. He has worked in environmental services and planning for over 13 years.

TIMOTHY AVIZINIS, vp

project manager

Tim is an environmental scientist with expertise in wetland delineation. A lifetime environmentalist, Tim’s background includes experience in geology and zoology, along with a demonstrated love of the outdoors. A skilled and curious field scientist, Tim is committed to accurate and thorough data collection, no matter how rugged the terrain. 

Since earning his undergraduate degree at the University of Rhode Island and his wetland delineation certificate from Rutgers, Tim has shown his passion and commitment to quality throughout his career. Thanks to this experience and a great sense of people, Tim frequently provides a fresh look at issues, helping to ensure every angle is observed.



AMber Hardy, MS

senior Environmental scientist

Amber is a soil scientist who has worked in conservation since 2013. A product of the University of Southern Maine, Tarleton State, and the University of Rhode Island, Amber is currently pursuing her PhD in Environmental and Earth Science. She has extensive experience in both the lab and the field, has coordinated field work and conservation efforts, and helped raise awareness of environmental issues.

With her experience, Amber brings valuable insight and field expertise to AES. Her leadership and skill set are truly appreciated.

Casey is an environmental scientist and GIS expert located in North Carolina. During his time earning his degree at the University of Rhode Island, he worked in the Watershed Watch Lab for the URI Coastal Institute and was a member of the URI Soil Science team. Casey was a model student, as demonstrated by earning a place on the Dean's List. An assortment of other work experience while in school has given him a wealth of experience in client services and communication as well.

Casey is known by his colleagues for his efficiency, accuracy, and commitment to teamwork. His experience with data analysis, field sampling, along with his passion for conservation, make him a valuable member of AES.


crystal avizinis, IM

administrator, a/r clerk, & invasives manager

An invasive plant specialist, Crystal additionally has years of experience in administration and bookkeeping from a diverse background, which includes banking, interior design, office management, property management, and retail. Throughout these careers and while attending the New England Institute of Technology, she has demonstrated a commitment, an organizational level, and a tenacity that has served her well and made her an invaluable asset to her teams. She rounds out these skills with a certification in coastal invasive plant management from the University of Rhode island’s Cooperative Extension.

Crystal brings this experience, along with invaluable financial expertise and administrative skills, drive, and the insight provided by such a broad background to AES, and helps guide us in our commitment to bringing our clients the finest in quality service.

PATRICK LOVELAND, im

environmental scientist, GIS specialist, & invasives manager

Pat worked in retail and healthcare for over 10 years before dropping everything to go back to school for ecology and natural resource management. While attending Montana State and Oregon State, he accrued additional experience in lab and field work, GIS and data management, and communication and office management.  A certification from University of Rhode Island in coastal invasive plant management rounds out his skillset.

Pat brings valuable administrative and research skills, along with GIS and logistical expertise. He fills a valuable support role in AES, helping to ensure accuracy and expediency.
